The Arabian Oryx is the star of the show. Thanks to breeding programs, there are hundreds in the reserve, and they are large white antelopes with long straight horns—hard to miss! Sand Gazelles are also very common and often seen in small groups. Mountain Gazelles prefer rocky outcrops. If you look closely at the sand, you'll see tracks of beetles, lizards, and small mammals. Birdwatchers will enjoy spotting Bee-eaters, Rollers, and sometimes the Houbara Bustard. Nocturnal animals like the Rueppell's Fox are harder to spot on day tours but sometimes make an appearance at dusk.
