What should I bring on the sunrise safari?

Here's what to bring for the best experience:

Essential:

  • Comfortable clothes (you'll be sitting in sand, moving around)
  • Closed-toe shoes (sneakers or light hiking shoes—sandals aren't great for sandboarding)
  • Sunglasses (the morning sun is bright and low on the horizon)
  • Camera or smartphone (you'll want it for sunrise and activities)

Recommended:

  • Light jacket or sweater (mornings can be cool, especially in winter)
  • Sunscreen (even morning sun reflects off sand)
  • Hat or cap (for after sunrise)
  • Small backpack (to carry your stuff hands-free)

Optional:

  • Extra camera battery (cold morning air drains batteries faster)
  • Scarf or buff (traditional desert style, plus protects from sand)
  • Any personal medications you need

Not needed:

  • Water (we provide plenty throughout)
  • Food (breakfast is included)
  • Towels or blankets (available at camp)

Dress in layers—it starts cool and warms up quickly after sunrise.
