Here's why: with a private tour, you can adjust timing (start a bit later if early morning is tough, spend more time in areas you love, rush through parts that don't interest you), stop for lunch wherever you want rather than our standard spots, add photo stops at places you've researched, and have your guide's undivided attention for questions and stories.

Pricing: Private tours cost more than joining a group tour, obviously. For 2 people, expect to pay about 1.5x the per-person group rate. For families or groups of 4-6, the per-person cost is often only slightly higher than group rate, making it great value. Groups of 7+ can actually find private tours very economical.
